Arkansas - CADC/AODA Training & Certification

CADC/AODA (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor/Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor) is the credential required in Arkansas to treat alcoholics and drug addicts. ICDS provides the mandatory 270 hour education to become certified and is approved by the Arkansas Substance Abuse Certification Board.

CADC/AODA Requirements
Work Experience 3 years (6,000 hours) work experience under a certified or licensed behavioral healthcare professional*
Education 270 hour addiction counseling specific education
Practicum 300 hours paid or volunteer supervised practicum training in an addiction counseling environment
Test IC&RC Alcohol and Drug Counselor written examination
*An Associate's degree may substitute 1,000 hours, Bachelor's degree 2,000 hours and Master's or above 4,000 hours
